International Symposium on Creation and Control of Advanced Selective Catalysis
as the celebration of 50th anniversary of the Catalysis Society of Japan

July 9, Wednesday - July 11, Saturday, 2008, Kyoto, Japan
(July 9-11: Scientific Program; July 12: Optional Kyoto Tour)

Chairman: Yasuhiro Iwasawa (Univ.Tokyo)
Vice-Chairman: Masakazu Iwamoto (Tokyo Inst.Tech.), Fumiyuki Ozawa (Kyoto Univ.)
Secretary: Noritaka Mizuno (Univ.Tokyo), Tsunehiro Tanaka (Kyoto Univ.)

The Catalysis Society of Japan organizes a pre-symposium of 14th International Congress on Catalysis (ICC 14) as the celebration of 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Society during July 9-12, 2008 (July 12 for optional sightseeing) in a Japanese memorial city, Kyoto. The perspectives and the current status of the pioneering selective catalysis designed and manipulated at atomic/nano-levels will be the emphasis of the symposium. A session for worldwide young scientists will be also planned. Three-days scientific program will comprise invited lectures, oral presentations and posters on the following topics:
  1. Fundamentals and theory for the selective catalysis
  2. In situ characterization of the selective catalysis
  3. New selective catalysis for green processes
  4. New catalytic materials for the selective catalysis
  5. Innovative processes by the selective catalysis
There are many flights everyday from Kansai Airport near Kyoto to Incheon Airport, Seoul, which will take only 2 h.

Registration fee (tentative):
General: $290, Student: $100, Accompanied: $50, Banquet: $90.
